16 Months!

David turned 16 months old on the 2nd of Nov. I know I say it every month, but where did the time go???
He's changed sooo much this past month too! What's different? Well:

1) He's walking... well. He can get up from the floor to standing/walking without pulling up on anything. He can stop, bend down to get a toy, and stand back up and keep going. He doesn't fall nearly as much, and he just looks like a little boy doing all of these things rather than a little baby!

2) He's talking so much more! He can say tons of words and he has so much meaning behind what he says. In the morning we come downstairs and he says "hi doggies!" when he sees the dogs. He can also tell me what he wants now which is great... ba-ba is bottle wa-wa is water. We are still working on signing which he now does "please" and "all done" for. Whining is a bit of an issue if he's tired or if I can't understand what he wants, but we're working on that. All I have to say is "no-no" to correct him for something and he gets all serious and points at whatever he shouldn't have and repeats "no-no." He loves to be a "good boy." When you tell him he's a good boy he just lights up and he'll do whatever he can to hear that again and again. He's so sweet!

3) He's so much more affectionate! I love love love this part of the 16 month stage. He wasn't a very cuddly baby but now he's really into giving hugs. He even says "awwww" when he hugs. I'll just be sitting there watching him play and he'll stop what he's doing and walk over to me with arms open and give me the sweetest, biggest, hug ever. He hugs the dogs too!! He hugs his stuffed animals and even the little sweet girl I watch a couple days a week. He's a big lovey boy!

4) He's sooo smart. He loves putting things together, and taking them apart. He loves to put the plug into the computer, and figure out how things work. He's going to be very mechanical. He likes to organize his toys just so, and he's so thoughtful and intentional with everything he does.

There are so many ways he's changing! He's just such a big boy and I catch myself missing the baby days less and less as he just gets more fun and is able to do more. There are a whole new list of challenges at this age, more discipline is required, and consistency on my part (which has never been easy for me to do!). It's all great though!

This past weekend David and I got to visit my folks in Goldsboro! It was so great! David got to play with some old Tonka trucks... the real metal ones. He had a blast playing in their big yard, and he loved their dogs! Hope we get to make a trip up again soon.

Here's a few pics of the big boy!
