Christmas, and looking to the New Year

This Christmas was really great!! David had a blast opening presents. Though I know he doesn't understand what Christmas is quite yet, and why we celebrate, I think he still had fun. Stephen got 4 days off! That was truly my favorite Christmas present, just time with him. We left on Thursday after Stephen got home from being on call... I did the driving and he tried to sleep. I say he tried to sleep because he didn't actually get any sleep, but he was a trooper and was able to stay up when we got to my parents house for presents and yummy Christmas dinner. We had our Christmas on Thursday because my Dad had to go back to work early. He is an airline pilot and holidays are quite a busy season! At least we had the time we did. "Santa" was really good to all of us! :-) The rest of the time at my Mom and Dads was spent hanging at the house, chasing after, David, playing pool and just really enjoying some time with my mom and sister.

Christmas Day the weatherman was calling for SNOW!! Eastern NC was predicted to get hammered with the white stuff that evening. Stephen and I made the decision that day to drive over to Concord to see his folks for Christmas dinner. While Stephen wanted to surprise them, I convinced him that it was rude to pop over unannounced. They were of course very excited to see us! David got to spend some time with the doggies, Patty cooked us a yummy dinner, and it started to SNOOOOOOW!! I have never seen snow on Christmas in my 26 years of life!! I think I was a bit over excited about it. I wanted to go out and play in it haha. My grown up side of me was a bit worried about how much it would snow, and if we'd be able to get home the next day but my 10 year old self said "whoooo hoooooooo!!!!"

I called my mom the next day to tell her that there was about an inch or two on the ground and we weren't sure how the roads were. She told me that Goldsboro got around 10 inches!!! The roads there were completely impassable! I'm so glad we went to Concord! We got on the road around 10 and while it was still snowing, the highways were clear thank God!!

So we are back to life, back to reality... Stephens at work, I'm settled in at home and we are looking forward to 2011! 2010 was a wild ride, but a year full of blessings! I don't really do resolutions, but this year I hope to just follow where God leads, trust and obey Him, and enjoy everything I've been blessed by!

Happy New year to everyone!!
