We made it!!

Finally in Mt. Pleasant, SC!! I can't believe it!! What a ride it has been getting here too. I honestly don't know how it happened. We couldn't have done it without our incredible friends and family!! Today marks one week since we arrived. Moving day #1 was marked by a stuck Uhaul w/ a flat tire, and finally getting on the road and making it to Concord, NC around 3am. Moving day #2 was much better, although we were all tired and the weather in SC was very hot and humid and we managed to get everything into the house. I think I crashed around 10 but I don't have a very clear memory of that day! Our friends and family were an enormous help. Without them we would have had to sell all of our possessions in WV and drive down here with just what we could fit in our van. Thanks to all who helped!

Life in SC is similar for me to life in WV. My days have been filled with unpacking, taking care of David, and sleeping. Everyone keeps asking me how I like Charleston and what kind of fun things we've been doing since we've been here. I say that I like it as much as I've seen of it, but we honestly haven't done anything super exciting. I've been dying to take David to the beach again, but it has been in the upper 90s almost every day with humidity so bad it feels like you could chew the air. Even the breeze on the beach won't help that kind of weather! It is cooling off a bit this weekend I hear and I'm sure we'll make it out sometime.

Stephen has been busy with orientation and so far really likes all the people at MUSC. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful. They have had meet and greets a few times this week and tomorrow he even gets to go on a sailboat with the residents!!

We miss our friends in WV so much! Saying goodbye was harder than I thought it would be. The last night in our house was very sad for me. We are seeing though, that it will not be too hard to make friends here. Everyone is so friendly and there isn't a shortage of things to do. We visited a nice church in Mt. Pleasant on Sunday, and the residents wives even have a bible study once a week.

Well, I've killed enough of Davids morning nap! Time to get ready for the day!
