Oh my, David started taking steps. Not solo, but pushing around a little walker toy! It won't be long til he's running around like a crazy man. This new found independence is bringing a whole world of joy and challenge. He no longer wants me to feed him a bottle, or read him books because he wants to do it all by himself! He even grabs the books out of my hand as I try to read to him and starts jabbering as if HE'S reading it. Oh boy are we gonna have a time with this one!
This mommy is having a hard time losing her "baby" but I'm so enjoying this next stage. He's funny, and while he wants to do things himself, he seems more fascinated with me, copying my funny faces, or doing things like high-fives! I also am getting to sneak in "cuddle time" quite often when he falls down from his wobbly adventures. I find it hilarious when he falls down, the more spastic the spill, the harder it is for me to not laugh for 10 minutes! I think I've watched too much "Funniest Home Videos" on TV. I've been conditioned to find it hilarious when babies fall. Now, if he really hurts himself, my heart breaks, but if I know he's ok but he tumbles down in a hilarious fashion I bust out.
He's been a little sick this week. He had his first fever and I of course being paranoid about him getting sick rushed him to the doctor. Nothing was wrong of course, just a little bug his body had to work out. Tylenol is amazing stuff! I love our new Pediatrician's office so far.
It has been hot hot hot here in Charleston. Humid too, so you never really get a break. The summer is going by fast though. Family visits, birthdays, anniversaries, all help to speed things along. I know before we know it, it'll be October and we'll be looking forward to the holidays. Sheesh, where does time go?
OK those are my thoughts for the day, better take a shower before D wakes up from his nap. Just another day in the life!
