March Madness!

Hey Ya'll!

Whew! March has been a blast so far! Its so great to be able to be outside lately. The weather has been just BEAUTIFUL the past few weeks, and today it was a whopping 90 degrees! I personally hope we get just A LITTLE more spring before summer hits here in Chucktown, but I'll take whatever after this chilly winter we've had. We get out a lot too. We live in an awesome place, we have our choice of several parks, the beach, or downtown for our little getaways. Its like being on vacation whenever Stephen has a day off.
My mom and sister Katie came down this past week. It was SO great to see them. I've been really missing my family lately. I hate being so far away. We went to the beach the day they got here, and even though they were exhausted, we had an awesome time! David loves to yell at the "wa-wa" chase the "birdies" and examine the "sheshells." I love all his little words... he's awesome! I took them downtown on Thursday, we went to our favorite restaurant, Fleet Landing, and Stephen was even able to come!! While we were downtown the St. Patty's day parade was going on so we had to stop and see that! David's first parade! We spent the afternoon checking out some local shopping, and we cooked crab cakes at home for dinner and relaxed. It was GREAT!
They had to leave Friday so D and I decided to head to the beach after nap. As soon as we got there we hear "Mandy!! David!!" It was our best friends in Charleston! We randomly went to the same beach on the same day at the same time!! I was so glad to see them there!! This is the sweet little girl I used to watch, our last day with her was Tuesday. I've been a little sad knowing I won't be watching her, but it's best for them to have a nanny come to the house. These two will always be BFF.

"Wa-Wa!!!"

David and I have been at the park EVERY DAY. Its great for both of us. My allergies have been NUTS though. The pollen is INSANE down here, it literally floats through the air. You wash the car and in an hour it's yellow again. But like I said, we brave it anyway because it is beautiful, and it's good for us to be out and active. In fact, did you see the new jogger stroller?? LOVE IT!! I got it at a yard sale!! I've sort of become a yard sale queen. Friday night I plan the attack, Saturday D gets up, I pack him a breakfast and some milk, and we're OFF.
So far my steals have been:

BOB Jogging Stroller- retail $329 yard sale $30

Graco Duo Glider Double stroller (for when I was babysitting) Retail $250 yard sale $30

Thomas the Train pop up play tent- retail $39.95 yard sale $5

Beachcomber pop up beach tent- retail $50ish yard sale $5
Sound machine for Davids room- retail $20 yard sale $1
Mellisa and Doug 100 piece train set- retail $100 yard sale $7 Tons of toys, a bike, books for David, and lots of others trash that is now my treasure!! I'm sold I tell ya! I feel dumb for ever paying retail price for any bit of baby gear brand new... there are tons of people around here every day in the spring and fall getting rid of their stuff, especially baby stuff!

Anyway, that's been our life the past few weeks. Family visits, playing outside, going to the beach, playdates with friends, dinner, bath, bedtime cuddles, and always "one more" book. Does life GET any better??!!

Have a great week!!

  1. Wow this was such an inspiring post! I've been contemplating going on the hunt for a used jogging stroller, and now I'm convinced I must do it! Thanks for the inspiration :) And PS I love that b&w beach picture... so sweet!

  2. I really love it!! I've been running/walking outside a lot more! Also it's just great on crazy terrain, I've even taken it to the beach. Def try finding a used one, it's gonna get used anyway I figure!
