Missed April post, and some of May

Oops!

What did we do in April? My roommate from college came to visit from DC for our friend's wedding.
Can we say FUN!! Its amazing how you can go sooo long without seeing a person, but if you are truly friends you can pick up where you left off.

Stephen was working a lot. There were many call nights, and few days off, but we made the most of it! We had some beautiful weather, and we were able to go to the beach a lot!

Easter came: Patty and Ed came down for a visit. We dyed eggs, went to church, and visited with them. Stephen's uncle and aunt had us over for dinner. It was a really nice time!

Now it is almost mid-May! I seriously can't beileve that summer is here. Kids are almost out of school around here, the weather is in the 90s and David is SO BIG. I'm even planning his second birthday party (gulp).

You can tell in the pic above that David REALLY needed a haircut (his first) so we did that.

A lolly pop helps ease the trauma that was the haircut. On a side note, I live in a kind of "uppity" area of town. I like that for the most part but there are some exceptions. I went to take David for his first haircut to this adorable kids hair salon here near me. The chairs are little airplanes and boats, more like you'd see in a playground than a hair salon. I was so excited! I got there, we sat down at the little table with the puzzles, I got put on the list (they say walk ins are welcome but I didn't feel so welcome), and we waited. I started snapping pictures of the place, and then the sign with the prices caught my eye. I nearly laughed out loud when I saw that a childs hair cut cost $29.95. I prompltly put the puzzle peices back in place, dragged my very unhappy child (because puzzle time was over) and told the lady that there was no way I would pay that for a 1 year olds haircut (in nicer words of course) and walked out. Sports clips fit my budget much better, or next time a good old fashioned barber. File that one under "You've got to be kidding me."

My mom came to visit for Mother's day. It was a pleasant surprise we planned it the day before! In true fashion, I got no pictures the whole time she was here... oh well! We had so much fun! She got here Saturday and we had dinner at Reds Icehouse. Then Sunday we had church in the morning and Mother's Day brunch at the Boathouse (thanks Mom!!). Mom and I spent the day shopping while Stephen stayed home with David and gave me a nice break. When we got back from shopping we went to the beach. It was a little cloudy and windy but still fun! Love the fact that my dad flys for an airline. Free tickets rule. We are planning on a trip to NH to see their new lake house the end of this month! I'm so excited. David is going to love his first airplane (ahhpeee) ride, and boat ride!

Well that's that for April and some of May. Will post again soon hopefully. Hope everyone had a great Mother's day and Easter!
