David's favorite things.

We've been keeping busy the last month or so since I posted. David is growing fast and we've officially entered his last month of being 1. I can't talk about that yet because I'm still in total denial, but he is growing up whether I like it or not.
Here's what he's been up to, some of his favorite things.
1) Going to the beach:
He literally wakes up most days in the morning with the first words "wa-wa beetch?" "it's the wa-wa, Beeeetch." Hilarious. He would live at the beach if he could and he NEVER wants to leave. Its almost not fun for me to go anymore because I dread having to leave, and the fit he throws!
2) Playing outside. We can just go out and explore the rocks, or ride on his riding toys, sidewalk chalk, just whatever as long as we are outside. It's getting hotter and hotter here though, and we're having to choose more indoor activities in the afternoon but that's ok.

3) Swinging. He loves to go high. He never wants to stop.

4) The slide, and his BFF "D" The days he doesn't ask for the beach first he asks for "DeeDee" as he calls her. I'm not posting her name on purpose for privacy reasons, but she's a doll, and David LOVES her.
5) Ice cream! He loves ice cream, any flavor, any way. He'd eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner if I let him! This was a pic of us at our favorite, Chick-fil-A.

6) The Pier. This is David's second favorite place besides the beach. It is so fun for us. He runs around looking at the water, and Stephen and I can usually enjoy the big bench swings they have there in the shade. It's a beautiful spot to look at downtown in all it's Charleston glory, watch the boats, sea life (dolphins and stingrays are our fave), and birds. David loves this, and its so great that we are only about 2 miles from it!

7) Choo-Choo Trains. I made him this little train table topper from plywood and some paint. I used the tracks I bought at the yard sale glued them down in this shape, and we've bought him a couple trains. Total cost: about $40 total including the trains. Watching your little boys imagination go wild: priceless!

8) Play-dough. When we aren't playing with trains, we're usually playing with play-dough. He really doesn't love coloring, and he's too young to paint (that would be a nightmare) so play-dough is how he expresses his artful side right now. His favorite thing is for me to make a bowl with one color and make a bunch of little balls with the other. He thinks this is super fun and loves to transfer the balls from the bowl to the empty play-dough cup. Whatever floats your boat son!

9) Babies. He loves babies. He can spot them from a mile away, and he's always looking into random strollers for one at the park. If he hears a baby crying at the store, it's all he can talk about. He says "Babies sad." He's so in tune with them its wild. I hope someday I can give him one to play with every day. He'd probably get over his love of babies though pretty soon if there was one around all the time taking up mom's attention... one can dream though! This is him with baby Ava, his new cousin. He calls her "baby Ahwaa"

Finally #10 tickle fights. I don't really have a picture of this, because really, when you are in the middle of a tickle fight you can't stop to take a picture. But this is by far his favorite thing. He BEGS for more. He says "more tickle Mommy!" Again, he never wants to stop... are you seeing a pattern here?

I guess that's a toddler for you, nothing is ever enough. He's really a sweet boy, I'm so having fun with this stage! Having a walking (running), talking (yelling), opinionated (stubborn), emotional (drama filled) almost big kid, but still my baby, BOY is so great and I'm soaking up every minute!

Hope you are having a great week!
